MAD recommendations please

Post by Guest » Thu May 03, 2018 1:07 pm

Hi there,

I've had OSA in the past and it seems to be back again.

My GP has advised me to try using an MAD. I've just looked at these online and there's a bewildering array of alternatives and it seems you can pay anything from £10 up to £100+

Is there a particular one or maybe a type of MAD anyone could recommend?

If using one this time doesn't help I'll be referred back to using CPAP but would prefer to look at surgical options as I have both a deviated septum and very narrow upper palate but I'll save that discussion for further down the line!

All the best to my fellow people dealing with this!

Unless you have very mild Sleep Apnoea it will not work.
There is a lot of pain at the start as well and a lot of people can't tolerate them as they can cause a lot of jaw pain.
You also need good teeth with no crowns etc, so if you do not meet with the above don't waste your money.
Go see a good dentist and get a quote.
