Pet allergy

Allergy to pet hair can cause swelling and irritation of the upper airway predisposing to snoring

Pollen

Symptoms include sneezing, runny eyes and nose, itching nose and sometimes headache and tiredness. The symptoms disrupt sleep and can cause snoring.

Passive smoking

Passive smoking increases the likelihood of developing asthma that in turn predisposes to snoring.

Air fresheners

Can cause sinusitis and runny nose. These symptoms will precipitate snoring.

Scented candles

A particular fragrance may trigger an allergic reaction giving rise to allergic rhinitis.

Furniture polish

Chemical sensitivity develops in those individuals who are prone to other allergies. Reduce exposure to these chemicals to reduce the risk of snoring.

Alcohol

Alcohol acts like a sedative and will reduce muscle tone in the upper airway.
