Topic review - my Septoplasty

Post subject:  my Septoplasty  Reply with quote
Hi all, thought it was about time I gave you all an update..Well on Tuesday I finally had my spetoplasty,, at James Cook University Hopsital in Middlesbrough, this was done in the SDU DEPARTMENT (Surgical Day Unit) and I was under the care of Dr Singh, although Im sure it was a Dr Wang that preformed the operation. so Im 4 days post op today, Pain didnt hurt,I had my ribbon packs removed 4 hours after the op and it made a great difference as nose wasnt as blocked as I thought it would be.and no blood bursts..To be honest the thing that is bothering me the most is my 2 front teeth and underneath them is very numb, feels very funny.Did anybody else suffer this>
It was my right nostril that was the problem but since the op my right side is very clear and seems to be the left side where its blocked and most painful,as if theyve shifted everything over to that side of my nose.
Ive been given Optreviene nasal drops to be used 2 x a day and also gotta do nasal douching 3 times a day which consists of 1 pint of cooled boiled water, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of Bicarbanate of soda which can be snorted up your nose with your hands cupped together or by using a syringe whatever is the easiset.,Im so pleased Ive had the operation and I know its still early days 4 days since, but these 4 days Ive slept so soundly and not experienced any snoring whatsoever which Im delighted with.. Im just waiting for outpatientd apt within 2/3 months to see the specialist, but so far so good, and I wish everyone best of luck and a speedy recovery if your waiting for septoplasty x
