Babies don't help :?

Mind you I rarely heard anything for the machine

Thats my excuse, and I am sticking to it. :)

Ok, I admit it, I did my share when I got a dig in the ribs.

Young babies are very stressful and deprivers of parental sleep! I still have 'fond' memories of this period many years further down the line. GOOD LUCK and all the very best to you all.

Thanks very much for the replys. I got him to do the Epworth Sleepiness questionnaire and he scored a 2. We are both tired at the moment because we have a 3 month old baby!. He has seen the doctor and has been refered to an ENT doctor. He has got a bit of fat on his neck, he used to fit into 17 inch collars in his shirt when he didnt snore, he is now a nearly 19 inchs round his neck. Im hoping he will be able to lose the weight and that will help with the snoring and i get to sleep next to my husband again!

Alsa is spot on as usual :)

Not a lot to add.
Weight will not help, if he has a large neck size or put down fat around his neck it may be the cause of his snoring.
If he stops breathing during the night it may be a sign of Sleep Apnoea, if he does stop (pause) breathing it will develop into full blown Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. Get him to the GP.
Loosing weight will help but it is anything but easy.

His weight won't be helping ... but it's difficult to lose weight at the best of times!

Get him to do the Epworth Sleepiness questionnaire on this site. Explain to him just how much his snoring is worrying you and how he could be at a greatly increased rate for a stroke or heart attack in his sleep if he has undiagnosed OSA.

The next stop is at your GP for a referral either to a sleep centre or to an ENT (ear nose and throat) specialist. GOOD LUCK and all the best.

Hello, im hoping someone can help me with my husband snoring problem. He never used to snore at all and i mean NEVER. He has started to snore REALLY loud, its doesnt matter if he sleeps on his side or not he snores whatever position he is in. He sleeps with his mouth closed and doesnt stop breathing in his sleep, the snoring noise is constant through the night with hardley any breaks in the snoring noise. He used to weigh 14 stone (196 lb) over the past few months he put on a bit of weight and now weighs 16 stone (224 lb). It seemed to be after he put on the weight that he started to snore, he is now sleeping on the couch as i cant sleep next to him. This is really depressing me as i want to be able to sleep next to my husband again. Could the extra weight be causing the snoring?
