Hi, I was hoping somebody might be able to give me a bit of advice.
I've always been a snorer which to be honest was less of an issue when I wasn't in a relationship, I've been with my partner for 3 and a half years, which isn't likely to be much longer if I don't get this sorted!
I first went to see my doctor last year, who if I'm honest didn't seem to take it particularly seriously, he referred me to an ENT consultant, who didn't seem to think there was much he could do, he prescribed me some tablets that they usually give to people with Asthma as he heard some people report that a side affect of these was they had stopped snoring. Sadly these didn't have an affect and the constant arguments with my partner are still continuing.
I went back to my doctor a couple of days ago to see how we can proceed with this, he advised there was nothing they could do after reading the consultants noticed and that if I wanted a second opinion I would have to go private.
Really don't know what to do, the doctor does not seem to understand how serious this is, its causing sleepless nights for both me and my partner, constant arguments, tiredness at work (from where I've either woken my partner up and I've been woken up in turn, or from where I'm trying to not fall asleep from being scared I might wake them up!).
I could probably afford to pay for a consultation privately but certainly not to have any private surgery completed, but if the NHS don't see this as something serious I really don't know what to do!
I've tried a million and one over the counter remedies which don't really do anything.
Any ideas!?
Many Thanks in advance.

Try the Epworth Sleepiness test on this forum and maybe this will provide evidence to show your doc. Are you sleepy during the day?
Suggest you go back to your GP and explain how wretched your snoring is making you feel. There are OTC products but they won't necessarily help you ... it depends on why you're snoring.

My suggestion is take control, and research all the natural remedies available.
There are a bunch of things you can try like losing weight (if you are heavy), mouthpieces, chin straps, exercises and all kinds...
wish you the best of luck
