How long does it take to return to normal activity after endoscopy? I am going in for an endoscopy in the AM will be home by 2pm. It's the same day as my husbands holiday party starting at 6pm. Will I be feeling well enough to go to this event or should I reschedule the procedure for another day?

Each person is different. I wouldn't like to say for anyone else. In my case, having only had a very ineffective local anaesthetic for an endoscopy I was fine straight away. However, after a much better applied local anaesthetic for a bronchoscopy/fibroscopy I was pretty poorly for 24 hours afterwards and was certainly not up for a party.

How long is the wait for a new date down your way? At least somebody else would benefit from your cancellation ....
