Well, I finally realised why I'd gone back to feeling crap!

I thought I better give the hose a rinse through and noticed a crack near the rubber bit on the end

Changed for my spare hose and whoopee, back to waking up energised and super alert again :D

Yes, well done for finding that. It has happened to me before, but it is so rare an event one forgets about it.
On some hoses you can repair them.
Cut the hose at the split and pull the coiled bit out of them rubber end.
Screw the hose back into the rubber end.
If you have some of the other types it may not work. I have done this a few times without any problems :)

Yeah, I remember thinking that the pressure didn't seem as high as it was, checked the settings and the mask, all OK- so I kind of though I must really be getting used to it!

Lesson learned- inspect the hose periodically too (& give it a clean more often  )

Amazing the effect a small leak can have. Mind you I'm responsible for a number of negative pressure isolators at work, and the tiniest leak can cause a huge drop in pressure. Same with the CPAP really!
