I think there should be a new section on the Forum for all the maddening but funny comments we have all had, you know the things

You can have a lie in tomorrow, you'll be fine

Open a window

Give your nose a good blow, you'll breathe then

i feel bad after a bad night, breakfast sorts me out though

did you sleep well last night, I dont know, oh you'll be fine then

Its terrible if you cant get to sleep, read a book

You will find some more daft sayings if you read through the topic "Bunged Up".
It's in this section of the forum. Started off by forum member "Mountain".

You could always reply to that; "No thank you, I haven't brought my pajamas and sleeping bag with me."

LOL exactly. I'm almost tempted to say something like, 'tired? You haven't a $*@%!* clue what tired is'.

My new approach might be this, "imagine if someone was to wake you up by trying to suffocate you every 2 minutes through every night.....for 10 years'.

Also, 'sleep deprivation is one of the most effective forms of torture' is a good one for retort I think, but I sure we'd get some kind of stupid reply to that too. :)

Well as I start to feel better and my brain starts to function they are suddenly seeing a different me, one who will happily tell the powers that be exactly what I think of them.

"Oh Mike could you re do that email I don't think it was clear enough"
No I cant, I need all my energy to live, not to waste it re explaining the obvious, perhaps they should go and waste some air somewhere else

I decided it was time to enter my difficult stage

LOL Indeed. I'm experiencing similar as I'm getting the energy to assert myself rather than being too tired to bother. I now have the energy to see some people for exactly what they are.

Unfortunately in days long gone when I used to have energy I was a bit of a maverick too :)
Old friends are liking getting the old me back, newish colleagues are bewildered.

Thats exactly right, old colleagues never used to question me, new ones are doing that and are stunned by the assertive response......

Dont they know that I am now so amazing that I need a machine every night to control me.

Gotta love the tiny shallow minds

I had to be careful Saturday, I was tempted to be rude to customer at work. Because I was taking too long in dealing with him being so busy, this customer joked "Thought you had fallen asleep!!" GGGGRRRR! :-x :-x :-x :-x :-x

New mantra: "Don't be rude to customers, don't be rude to customers..." :-? :-? :-?

You won't believe how rude people can be, Missed the Green! Okay, I'll admit that I work for a well known chain of fast food "restaurants". More often than not, I find myself on "Drive-Thru" duty, taking orders and payments. I've lost count of how many people scream "Hello" at the speaker as they pull up, or take their time wondering what to have then they just want a drink while a queue builds up behind them, or people taking on their mobiles while I'm waiting to take their order, or driving past the speaker, so I end up taking their order at the "Payment" window, or changing part of their order at the "Payment" window and my pet hate, smoking! Not just ordinary cigarettes either!

I'm begging anyone on here who visits such establishments to be considerate to the poor person serving. This person will have had previous customers screeching in one ear and having the managers scream in the other, while wondering if they will ever get a chance for a bit of peace, calm and sanity aka a break......

As a very occasional visitor to these establishements (usualy requested by my 8yr old son) I'm guilty of being indecisive when ordering!

The problem is they seem to put the menu at the wrong end of the queue at these places. You almost have to drive past the 'talky thing' to get to read the menu.

I'm always polite and sympathetic though :) Having worked in many jobs and having been (still am!) on the receiving end of the 'general public' I'm well aware how rude people can be. In fact just when I think I've seen and heard it all, an even worse person will come along to surprise me!!

Mind you, my wife is originally from overseas and people do that 'talking really loudly and slowly' thing to her, which constantly amuses us especially when she talks loudly and slowly back

I think that's the idea , Mountain, so you can decide what you want and to tell the voice in the "box" your order. Mind you , my workplace has just received new headsets to talk to the customers. I no longer have to suffer yells and screeches of "hello" when a car approaches, but I have beeps in my ear until I press the button to talk!

My personal attitude to rude customers is the fact I could be a customer wanting to use/purchase their goods or services, so I may return the "favour"!!!!

Anyway, back to the thread subject: I'm just waiting for : "would you like a coffee to wake you up?"
