Just had my 200th night on CPAP. Stats are 200 out of 200. The real story is behind the stats. Not always easy, I have had many bad nights with mask leakage, but so many good nights too. I have learned a lot in this time. For any new person the main thing I can say is to persevere. I feel in many ways like a different person, I now have more patience and life's little problems wash over me whereas they would exasperate me in the past. I get tired now, rather than always feeling weary. I carry my Resmed with me on planes, trains all over the country as I work away a lot. But it's worth all the hassle and more. I get pumped up with air overnight and could give Usain Bolt a run for his money once I have had my morning porridge and coffee. :D

I am no longer the person who no one wants to share a room with, whose snores can be heard in rooms adjoining or above. I might be a hose head but I now feel more normal than I ever have remembered being in the past. Oh and one last thing, that first week being on the machine, the euphoric first phase where I felt like Jimmy Stewart at the end of 'it's a wonderful life'; feeling like high fiving strangers in the street. It's temporary but what a feeling while it lasted.

Apologies for the rant, but that's my experience.

Hi Hose-A

Could not agree more - the benefits are amazing - just coming up to my 1st anniversary as a Hose Head and I too have got my old life back in a way that I never imagined would be possible.

Here's to a future full of energy and joie de vivre for us all!!!!!!

It is so good to read positive posts and I am sure it gives hope to all the newbies on here.

Michael

Hi Hose-A,

I too have just passed the 200 night mark. Not noticed as I had a machine swap but on seeing your post, checked out SleepyHead stats and discovered that I reached 200 in the last week in June.

Keep up the good work :-D :-D :-D
