Good Morning all,

After my pic the other day with the lady with the horn in her head i have now found a nice bloke for her to team up with

Man with a Horn
Ma Zhong Nan, a 93-year-old man living in a small village in China, recounts how a horn began to sprout on his head five years ago. Ma was combing his hair one day and carelessly injured his scalp. Because it was just a small wound, he did not pay much attention to it. Little did he expect that a thick, hard substance started to grow on his head.

Hey the net is a crazy mad place - I LOVE IT !!!!

Morning all ,

Well we had yet more snow last night here and its predicted more for today and tomoz they say it will last another 10 days this cold snap but i never really trust the weathermen !!!!.
I went to my local Asda store yesterday and it was like a mad panic in there the shelves empty ,people scrambling for bread and milk like it was never going to return again :D How would we do if we had this weather for months ???

On a lighter note i was watching big brother last night and next week the auditions start for BB11 for the summer and guess what im thinking of going for it - I think i may be wacky enough for the show :D :D and guess what my novel idea is to take the cpap mask and tubing to the audition and i could be the first housemate in there with osa !!!!!
Could just imagine the cameras zooming in on me asleep with the quattro mask around my face hahahahahahaha well who knows !!!

Have a great weekend all ,

Take Care.

Afternoon all,

Its sunday and its started to snow here again today, this morning i nearly came a right cropper i was walking my doggy (crazy staffy) round this lake

When she decided to go walkies on the ice after getting her off it she decided to run off and next minute heard a loud cracking sound of ice breaking and the dog is in the water swimming with the swans , unable to get her out by hand had to use my leg to get her which got soaked (it was bloody freezing and nearly fell in ) managed to grab her which was lucky !!! :D :D

Have a good day whats left of it .

Regards,

Morning all its 6.01am on Jan 14th .

Woken up at 4.00am pains in my left side of my chest around the lung area ,the cpap air seemed to make the pain worse when breathing in ???? never had this happen before ,took the mask off and pain was gone.

Ive noticed my 2010 wall appears quite dull and needs some spicing up its still cold outside so this pic may warm you up a bit .

Good point S2S another part of Britains heritage well and truly gone ,founded in 1824 by the cadburys brothers sold to the yanks !!! perhaps we could sell the queen and the royals to them next

Anybody ever been to cadburys world in bourneville in birmingham ????
well the last time i went there about 2yrs ago it was around £16.00 for entry which for that you get 6 cadburys choccy bars !!! you walk round see the story of chocolate ,see a few robots packing choccy bars and creme eggs and thats about it !!!!

Pehaps now the yanks have it the price will double to get in there or perhaps it will close who knows!!!

Well busy day ahead so must shoot off now ,

Take care all and have a good day ,

Regards,

Hi NM..........I do look at the site most days, even if I am abroad, and I'm not right now, but I keep forgetting you are a "journalist". A lot of the time nowadays I don't feel qualified to comment on some of the discussion because I am not a CPAP user. BTW congrats on your 40th....I can't remember mine at all, I have a job remembering what I did the week of my 60th, it was the month before I first went to the docs about suspected Sleep Apnoea!!! I am going to do my neti pot "nose lavage" now, trouble is I am getting short of salt, most of it went on my backdoor steps last week in this crud weather  Cheers mate, all the best Ken

Morning all,

After i put the other day that cpap was doing good at the moment i was woken up last night with a bad mask leak ,it felt like my face was going to explode with the pressure :( and taking a glance at the machine the pressure was at 19.6 thats the problem with the s8 machine it will compensate for mask leakages and blow more ,im sure there must be a cut off point somewhere or else you would be floating up to the ceiling with the air pressure :D :D
I have been told dont know if this is true but the s8 will go to 24.0 wow who could cope with that?? ive been told by my clinic that there are many people with cpap machines on set pressure at 19 how do they sleep at that ???
Mines usually at 10 most nights ,when i started out it was 15 most nights so i suppose theres been a improvement for me over the last 3yrs to get down to 10 and lung capacity and asthma are far better.
I had this conversation with Mac the other day perhaps cpap can prolong your life in more ways than you think not just protect your brain and heart perhaps other vital organs function better like my lungs have a greater air capacity now .May even get to 100 yrs old on it
Well its a thought ???? i will tell you the answer in 2060 if im still around

Well waffle over ,have a good day all keep smiling

Hi NM,

Hope your week end is going well too. The wall climbing looks fun but I can assure you it's not me, if you were wondering.

Your post about the pressures made me remember something about when I was trying to get the sleep clinic to let me have or even buy a Respironics M series APAP like they used when assessing me insted of the CPAP I got issued with.

When I asked to be given permission to buy one (the company won't just supply one and the DVLA want a doctor monitoring treatment) the consultant set up another test only with a BiPAP. However, the technician was not familiar with the machine and unbeknownst to me set it to start at 20 and go up to 25.

I lay down to relax to see what it was like and flicked the switch and waited for the air. It was like a solo act of the panic scene from chicken run

However, not knowing the machine I thought I must persevere and actually spent a night with a gale going through. The following day I went back to my machine and got the BiPAP reprogrammed the following week. (The BiPAP felt good and I still wanted to buy one as I liked the way it stopped as you breathe out) However, the consultant said all my problems were with leaks and I would not benefit.

Cheers,

Martin

Hi Sleepybiker,
Feel sorry for anybody on pressure of 19 and above it must be like sticking your head out of a car window doing 80mph
I could'nt tolerate that every night i think if i was that bad i would book for gastric banding :D :D
Can remember on the other cpap site there was a guy called puffin he was a great chappie he had the operation where they reduced his stomach down to the size of a egg (sorry dont know medical name for it)
and he went from about nearly 30stone to the last i remember was about 16stone he now cpap free - jesus he's half the man he was

Although theres reports that sometimes drastic weight loss will not cure sleep apnoea perhaps improve it ,think theres a guy here meatcruncher he lost loads of weight but still has osa -so just proves weight loss is not always the cure.

Regards,
