I"m working on a snoring publication and would love to get some funny stories about snoring. Do you have a funny situation you can share (anonymously, of course)? What's the funniest remedy you've ever tried? Please let me know - it would be great to include in my booklet.
Thanks.

Not sure this will really be what you are after, but I had a laser paletoplasty a month ago which was done under a general anaesthetic. When I was coming around after the op on the trolley there was someone mudging me and speaking to me and through that half conciousness after years of training by my wife not to sleep on my back I started to roll over onto my side. Well of course the trolleys are not that wide and you are still connected to various wires and all. I could hear vague "Peter, what are you doing, stop" to which I tried to reply "can't sleep on my back because I snore badly, must sleep on side" and carried on rolling over whilst they tried to restrain me to keep me from falling off the trolley. Eventually I woke up to much embaressment.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. My husband snores (part of the reason I'm writing the booklet) and he's very well trained to always roll over onto his side. If I am able to compiel enoug stories, I'd like to use yours - would that be ok?

Just found your request for funny stories. Hope I'm not to late.
I was at Lamertree music festival in July 2008. I had gone to sleep about 10.30 on the first night and was woken up by a very loud group of elderly festival goers on the site next door to us.
They kept us awake till quite late 2.30ish. After it had quietened down I went back off to sleep snoring very loudly APPARENTLY. the next I know is a very bright torch pushing through the side of the tent hitting me in the face. With this woman shouting at me to stop snoring as she couldn't get to sleep and stop sleeping on my back (somthing I've never done). This woke my wife and the rest of the night we dreaded falling asleep in case I was attacked again.
The next morning we were early and made sure that we made more noise than we would normally to get our own back. They wouldn't talk to use like other campers and other campers thoroght it was highly amusing. They never woke me again but it was a bit of a dampner on a very magical festival.
In Febuary I was diagnosed with critical Sleep Apnia (70 apnias an hour). Now I sleep with CPAP and I hope this vicious women will be happy.

Hope you can find room for this.

Hi I have been a terrible snorer for years and dont know how my wife copes. Well I was in hospital on a heart ward as I had an angina attack. Whilst in the hospital I fell asleep one night lying on my back then all of a sudden there was chaos all around me and the bloke in the next bed had my head and was bouncing it up and down on the pillow whilst screaming at me to stop snoring. Apparently the noise of my snoring had really got to him and he couldnt take any more. There is a funny side to this story as the bloke in the next bed was a Salvation Army captain and i am also a Christian. The next day I overheard his conversation with one of his visitors and I heard him say"i like people to see the lord in me through my actions".
I was trying not to laugh.
Derek

Hi, i have been a terrible snorer for years and was in hospital due to an heart attack. I fell asleep and then all of a sudden there was chaos all around me. It was about 2 in the morning and the bloke in the next bed to me had totally lost it due to my snoring. I awoke with him grabbing my head and bouncing it up and down on the pillow and screaming at me to shut up as he couldnt stand it.
There,s a funny side to the story as the bloke in the next bed to me was a salvation Army captain. I am a practicing christian as well and the next day the man had 2 visitors and I overheard him saying" I like people to see Jesus in me through my actions". I nearly drowned on the tea I was drinking and nearly had another heart attack.
Just as well i have a sense of humour.
Derek.
