I too fail to see the hilarity of the question...
It's difficult to say what to expect as each person has a different experience with it. It's nothing like a vacuum cleaner as the air goes the other way. In this heat the mask may be uncomfortable so try to make sure your room is as cool as possible. But if it's still uncomfortable don't worry, all us cpap users are in the same boat at the moment.
Some people struggle with the air pressure, others (like me) don't
As for what I'd expect, don't expect it to be magic, it'll take some getting used to and it's unlikely that you'll catch up on all that lost sleep in one night.

Fear not Gazby. The Dark Knight is a silly troll who doesn't understand anything about OSA, and obviously spends a lot of time in a dark night of his or her own.

Hi Gazby, Welcome to the forum. I have had my machine a few months now and i could tell the difference in less than a week. Others take longer but hang in there with it it's well worth it in the long run

If you are luck it will take a few days, but if you struggle it may take a bit longer. No two people are the same.

I definately havent had a "quick fix", I am now 3 months into CPAP and 2 masks later still struggling. I will say that perseverance is key though as despite seeming to struggle at night I do feel much better when I wake in the mornings. I agree with what people are saying that no 2 are the same. I hope you get there alot quicker than I am.

Hi again,
My experience with CPAP was excellent from the first night, I have since realised that it isnt the norm, many people do struggle a bit but as the others have said, it really is worth the struggle. I have had problems with masks but have learnt to alternate my masks,,,,,,,, ( I have been given three different ones from the hospital on different visits). By alternating them, the sore nose doesnt get too bad, and I find it a small price to pay for getting my life back.
Goodluck
