Hi everyone
Had my Septoplasty and Turbinate Reduction op on 15 February 2010. I had Septoplasty and turbinate reduction. Unfortunately I was in excruciating pain for around 5 days post op and hardly slept at all. I had packing and splints. Splints were removed 7 days post op. What a relief that was. I was only given paracetamol and diclofenac for pain relief. (If you're having the surgery ask for Morphine or Tramadol - I'm allergic to Morphine and wasn't allowed Tramadol as I had this surgery done as a result of a head injury

Hopefully you'll be luckier)
Had 2 weeks off work and needed every day of that. Now 21 days post op and I can't believe how much energy I have!! Is this normal? It would appear that I am now sleeping like a normal person and not snoring. I no longer feel like going to bed straight after a days’ work, falling asleep at work... Oxygen is actually reaching my brain - how novel
If anyone is thinking of having this done go for it, I can't believe how much it has changed my life for the better. You will forget about the pain and it really is worth it.
I do have one question though: Is there anyone out there who has had to have this done more than once? I have heard that cartilage has 'memory' and can 'grow back'. How true is this?
Good luck guys and gals
