I am quite worried about falling asleep after I have taken off my mask , I know it's better to wear it if you can but how much danger are you in if you don't wear it , after all I must of had this for sometime without my mask !!! At the moment I also have a mouth full of ulcers and swollen tongue and really dry throat has anyone else had this ?

Jan, I left you a message elsewhere on the board but I think you need to see your clinic. You should be able to reach an on call sister outside of 9-5. It is dangerous not to wear it - u really sound stressed and need to get it off your chest.

If you want to vent I'll call you if you like - I really feel for you - but you need a doc or clinic hun. Helen

Hi Helen ,

Your right I do need to speak to someone as I do feel really fed up and stressed , I think that between my thyroid , back and now this I feel really low , the clinic I go to is a small one that is not in the hospital but a house and there is no one there in the day time and as it's holiday weekend it's closed .
I will call on Tuesday and make appointment to see the GP , I think I have now lost the plot :?
And my mouth is so sore , going to try some salt water as the mouthwash is not helping "sigh"
Thanks for replying Jan Xx

Sounds like you have the same probs as me. I was hypothyroid and had no idea til I got really poorly. I thought the OSA was my thyroid making me feel like crap I ignored all the symptoms, and just put it down to my thyroid and the medication I take for my slipped discs.

Great idea til I ended up in a&e with 70% carbon dioxide in my blood! Been so ill its unreal. The world is a lonely place at 2.30am. I would ask your clinic for an out of hours emergency number cos there has to be one - even if its at a hospital 40 miles away. Look up hypercapnea on the internet and mke sure you know the symptoms. My thyroid hid it really well. Too well. How did you get on at the docs today? Helen
