:( Hi everyone, I'm new here, but was told to take a look at the site by my mum. I am now living in Mallorca most of the time but thought I'd post a message to see if anyone could come up with any ideas.
My snoring is soooooooo bad that I have had friends - in the past - threaten to cut my head off in the middle of the night!! My partner often has to get up in the night and go to sleep in another room. Approximately 9-10 years ago I went to a consultant in London about it and he told me (after sticking a camera up my nose and down part of my throat - nice!) that I had narrow tubes!!!! There was no operation and no cure for my snoring. I have had tests (about 9 years ago) for sleep apnoea, but was found not to have it. I wake up everyday feeling totally knackered and if I lie down for 5 minutes you can guarantee I will nod off without any problems. I wake myself up snoring often and lie there wondering what the strange noise was! My snoring has been worse in recent years as I put on a little weight but now I am losing that gradually. But I do remember 10 years ago I was a very fit and slim person!

Does anyone know of any recent developments for people with narrow breathing tubes?? very annoying and apparently hereditary - from my Dad I think, who used to snore horribly and had sleep apnoea.

Hi and welcome to the forum ,

Couple of things you mention there are indicators for sleep apnoea ,
Have you tried the Epworth sleep test to measure your daytime sleepyness ??? the higher the score the more likely you have osa.

heres the Epworth link on the site -

Perhaps a word with your doctor about a sleep study may be the way forward for you ,honestly can't advise you on the narrow tube issue.

Get yourself checked out again better to be safe than sorry.

Best Wishes,

I think you need to reassessed for OSA.
Couple of things, weight and snoring louder, plus you are tired.

Ask to be checked out again.
