hi all
i'm new to the boards, been reading some advice and stories on here, and it is very informative.
anyway my question is, do you think this sounds like sa? i am going for a sleep study my g.p is sending me, i awake just as i'm nodding off gasping and sucking in deep breaths, because i have stopped breathing, it can also happen in the middle of the night and awake me out of sleep, sometimes i dry heave and choke too, it scares the hell out of me to be honest. I am always lethargic and naggy during the day, bad headaches every day too, and quite often have liitle naps, it has also happened when i have a nap during the daytime too. I seem to have periods where i dont or cant remember waking up with it though, do you wake every night with sa?
also i have started snoring for about 12 months whereas i never did.

Welcome to the board. I am not a doctor, but your GP wouldn't send you for a sleep test if he/she didn't think that you weren't showing signs of sleep apnoea. Feel free to keep us posted on your progress or vent any frustrations, I am relatively new, but there are friendly people here !

Sounds pretty much the same as me. I'm having the sleep study next week.

Sounds like you have a GP that's on the ball which is a bonus.

Pluck up your courage and go to your doc. Ask for a sleep study. The sooner you are diagnosed, the sooner you can start to manage your condition and your life will improve radically ... and the fear will evaporate 100%. The longest journey starts with the first step ....

You'd be surprised where you can sleep if you have to! And the equipment will pick up anything of note very quickly. Hope you get your test soon and can move forward towards diagnosis and management.

The hospital was so hot when I booked in that I thought "I will never sleep in all this heat" so I got the time I had to be back (It was afternoon I first went) so I went to the pub and drank a couple of pints and had some good food there.
Returned at the appointed time, got wired up and slept like a log

Only thing was in the morning I could hardly wait for the wires to be disconnected so I could get a pee

looking forward to it now ha
be nice to know and to be treated because i'm so lethargic every day, i'm like a drip tbh
