I've had a few like that. One comment was "At least they've found out what it is now and you won't have to wear the mask for long", I said "What are you trying to say? It's for the rest of my life!" :?

  but it's TRUE. OSA cannot be cured but effectively managed for life.

LOL. Did they look perplexed?

Jeez, my manager hasn't even asked how I'm feeling, nevermind asking anything about the treatment

Mind you as my manager has asthma and has a lot of time off due to it and milks it for all it's worth, I'm tempted to refer to it as 'being a bit out of breath, or perhaps saying, 'haven't the inhalers cured that yet?' Of course I wouldn't trivialise anyones health condition....very tempting though!

I am however, going to suggest that basic disability awareness training is needed for some members of staff!!! :)

Loving all the idotic comments though :D

Trouble being, it was hubby who came out with those little gems! Got my own back with a display of CPAP side effects...

Think my manager is sympathetic as I started to cry after he asked how the appointment went. I haven't seen him since then..

There's only one solution.....make him try the CPAP himself  :-D
I tried this with my wife after she was in hysterics (had a Hannibal Lecter moment!!!).................

Doesn't help when hubby sleeps downstairs due to one of the following excuses, I mean reasons:

"I've a headache"
"My ear(s) are playing me up"
"My back aches"
"My hip hurts"
"I've got to get up early"
"It's too hot!"

I'd wish he would say he doesn't want to sleep with me anymore.

Been called "lazy" by a junior manager the other day. Blooming cheek! He had better be joking. I wanted to have some verbals regarding disability discrimination but I'm waiting until my check up! I wasn't snoozing.... :-x :-x :-x

Perhaps Dan could use these daft questions and quotes as a theme for a future "Snoring Awareness Week"! :D

Yeah, definitely need an idiotic comments list! :)

The 'lazy' comment is out of order, but to be expected :(

I had an interesting conversation with a colleague last week after I found out a lot of, 'is it safe for him to be at work?' gossip had been going on. I asked them if they would be saying the same about a diabetic who may have a 'hypo'. Or, a someone on antidepressants who may be equally as 'fuzzy' from time to time due to medication. Epilepsy? Heart failure? and so on.

I asked where they would draw the line, and why they felt some conditions needed support from colleagues and some not.

I think they got my point

Never mind Hannibal Lecter, I'm waiting for Darth Vader comments!
Well, that's what goes through my mind as I hear myself breath wearing the "face hugger". Surprised no-one has picked up on the "Alien" reference yet! :?

What angers me is that I had spoken to this junior manager about the tests I was going through and my snoring a while back..... AND he is supposed to deal with Health and Safety! :-x :-x :-x :-x

LOL :D
The Mountain nickname was a result of a Japanese girl getting my name wrong and calling me Mountain (complete with arms over head fingers touching type gesture- think A out of YMCA!!). All witnessed by a friend and I got stuck with it!!! I still get called Mountain from time to time by people who I haven't seen for a while that can't remember my actual name :D

Tracey, go into work with some gaffer tape, and sick it over your managers mouth every few minutes as a 'training aid'. See how he likes it :D
