Well first night was ok i guess, i did fall asleep before i put mask on then woke up at 2am then put mask on and for the remaining 5 hours i fidgeted with mask, itched and must have slept a bit, so not the best night but enough to make me believe I will get on OK, long weekend ahead and am determined to get as much sleep with the CPAP as possible

Good luck Mike.

Biggest problem you may face will be leaks from mask but don't be tempted to over tighten the straps.

Well a few nights in now, feeling better, all gradual, getting to sleep quite well, usually wake up around 2 then struggle to sleep, try sleeping on side but get leaks so tend to fidget around a lot but do eventually sleep. Not totally comfortable with it all yet, dont think pressure is high enough, will discuss on follow up appointment.

Thanks for all the supportive comments, its going well

Mike

I have found that having a humidifier in appears to drop the pressure quite a bit.
Try it without the humidifier in line and see if it feels better. If it does contact the clinic. You would not think it would affect the pressure much but try it.

I don't actually have a humidifier, doing ok without, just seems that so much air escapes from the vent on mask, doesn't seem right

The vent has to new there it get rid of Co from your breath. Having said that some masks do have bigger vents than others.
It may that you need a slight increase in pressure to compensate. It is most unlikely that the sleep study was done using the same type of mask.
Discuss it with your Sleep Clinic.

Hello everyone

Well a bad day, really tired, I know last night I struggled to get to sleep, mask felt wrong, i was itching and fidgeting, so I know i didn't sleep much, however, I will not let it get me down, I need to relax more and allow sleep to happen and I will be OK.

My good Lady tried my mask on last night and I turned the air on, she couldn't get it off fast enough, I said in so many words, how on earth do you cope with that, well we just have to dont we and all things considered, its ok.

All the very best for tonight. It is sometimes a slow and wobbly start so do try to keep with it! We are rooting for you! :D

Much better sleep last night, I was tired during day but brain was sharp and I felt part of the show rather than a side show.

Follow up appointment on 29th

Mike
