I was sceptical but took the plunge having been told my snoring wasn’t acceptable and that I was stopping breathing. Very easy to mould; takes a bit of setting correctly and getting used to, but night sweats stopped immediately and am now sleeping more soundly than I have for years.
Peace at last!
on the 2nd Feb 2018
My snoring had gradually become worse to the point that I had started sleeping in the spare room so that my long suffering husband could get a proper sleep as he often has to get up early. Having researched online and read previous reviews I decided to give the Somnoguard SP a go. I found the instructions reasonably easy to follow and fitted the device without a problem. Spending time making sure of a good fit is worth the effort. The first night it felt a bit strange to wear however it has stopped the snoring, Result! We are now both getting a good nights sleep as my husband used to spend all night prodding me awake so neither of us slept well, and the minor discomfort soon passed as I have gotten used to wearing it. I would highly recommend this product. It has been a minor miracle and peace has been restored!
Works well for me
on the 27th Feb 2017
I previously tried a cheaper product from another manufacturer to see if an advancement device would work for me in principle.I found that the cheaper item worked, but that it was hard to get a consistent fit.So... I took the plunge and bought one of these. I had to make two attempts at moulding the device to get a good fit, but now that I've got a good fit it stays in well. The fact that it allows a fair bit of jaw movement up/down and side-to-side makes it more comfortable than the cheaper device I tried. I initially tried the suggested default advancement setting, but found I had to increase the advancement by one notch to fix my snoring problem. It works for me, anyway.
Excellent product, excellent company, thoroughly recommend!

Ok, so my wife has been giving me grief about my snoring for years. I had the hard version of this product for a while and it made very little difference with my snoring continuing to annoy my good lady. I purchased this soft version about 4 weeks ago and the difference has been amazing. There is a little discomfort at first (I set it to the maximum advancement setting), it's slightly uncomfortable when it first goes in each night and my teeth seem to have to find their way home each morning when I take it out but all of these issues are minor when compared to the results. My snoring has stopped completely. It is the most expensive product in the range but worth every penny. Before this I was considering surgery. I think it's effective enough for sufferers of sleep apnoea and even those poor folks who need to plug themselves into a machine at night.BSSAA have a great website with easy and clear navigation and product descriptions and, having ordered a couple of products from them in the past, I can say that their customer service is spot on.I would thoroughly recommend both the SP Soft product and BSSAA to anyone who wants to stay married. My wife has now had to find other reasons to moan about me - thankfully snoring is not one of them!
In control of snoring
on the 25th Apr 2016
Purchased the Somnoguard SP Soft 9 months ago but kept putting off the fitting (it's a male thing)! Partner started threatening me with excommunication if I did not act promptly last week (for obvious reasons). Fitting was easy, needed a couple of minor adjustments over the following few days (plastic was rubbing against gums). Minor discomfort for first few nights but already sleeping much more soundly and no Apnoea since fitting. Partner also sleeping better and very happy with results.

I bought this for my husband who snores. We now both get a whole nights sleep. He used to snort loudly in between snoring, wake me up (and himself) then roll over and continue snoring whilst I'd lay awake listening to him for hours. With this device he is quiet and the odd night when he forgets to wear it sure enough he is snoring loudly again. Would highly recommend for anyone to buy this as a present for their partner if they snore.

I have tried everything's not the market, literally everything, including surgery in Harley St without success. I am not overweight, 6ft and 83kgs, have a good diet and get exercise but snore like a raging bull. Until now that is. This mouth guard actually works! It takes a few goes to get the right fitting but start off with a comfortable setting then increase the length of strip you use until the snoring stops. Still a bit of discomfort in the morning but this passes within 30 mins or so. I use Snorelab on an iPhone to record and measure my snoring during the night and my score has dropped from an average of 40 down to 3!I don't have to worry about waking my partner as I have been single for a few years now, my snoring was a major factor in our marriage collapsing. Since then I had not pursued a relationship for fear my snoring would put someone off, but now I am thinking about trying again as I stand a chance of not getting thumped in the chest in the middle of the night, at least not because I was snoring! :-)
Tomed SomnoGuard SP Soft
on the 12th Aug 2015
I have been using the Tomed SomnoGuard SP Soft for about five to six weeks now. I have found it very helpful. According to my wife, my snoring and sleep apnoea have stopped completely and I certainly feel less sleepy during the day and have more energy. It is a bit bulky in the mouth and takes a few nights to get used to it but essentially I was sleeping through the night and not not noticing it until waking by the third or fourth night. Occasionally the lower mandibular part slips off the teeth and needs repositioning despite my having remoulded it. The initial moulding process for both upper and lower parts is straightforward but I needed a couple of attempts to gauge the correct side arm lengths to position the lower jaw relative to the upper. The moulding is soft and comfortable despite its bulk in the mouth. Cleaning it is also straightforward. It is difficult to sense how long it will last - there is very little if any wear at the moment and I would be surprised if it did not last several months to a year. There are spare side arms. Provided it does last about a year it it is reasonable value and will be more than worth the expense.

I have slight sleep apnoea and have previously used CPAP for about 5 years but never got on well with it. My hospital consultant suggested I tried a MAD device. The SomnoGuard device has certainly stopped me snoring - so my wife tells me - so its a winner there. It takes a few days to get used to having something in the mouth for a full night but after about a fortnight no problem. I have no hesitation in recommending the SomnoGuard to other sufferers.

Well, it does work and that's the main thing. It's not nice to have a mouth full of plastic but you do get quite used to it. I have to use a chin strap with the guard as occasionally my mouth opens in the night. I found it quite difficult to attach and remove the extension strips. I am thinking of upgrading to the more expensive but less intrusive version.
