Update to my previous review - 1 year on
on the 15th Jun 2018
So, I have bought a replacement for the last TAP PAP I purchased over a year ago (see review below) and have used every single night since. Here is the short version. I love it, but it is a real pain to set-up. Once you have it set-up it is the best mask I have ever used by a long long way.
The problem, however, is setting up the mouth piece. For both I have ended up fiddling around setting and re-setting at least 5 times until I got to the point where it fitted my teeth well without pain - but it took some time. The issue as far as I can see is that when you set the mouth piece with boiling water and it seems to fit, then when it cools it seems to contract just a little more that was comfortable in you mouth. So, it ends up pushing on your teeth somewhat. To overcome this, you need to run it under the hot water tap for 15 seconds and make small adjustments or tweaks. This is what I have done and after some work I have again got this to fit really well and it is an amazing product.
Once fitted it is rock solid and stable and won't move when you do! There really isn't anything like it out there to compare. So, if you buy one (and I would highly recommend you do) know in advance that you will need to take time to get it fitted properly but then, you will love it!I should also say that it is really small and easy for travelling but be careful to put it in a plastic bag on its own as the inserts can fall out and I have been told that to replace them you need to buy a whole new mask. So, I put mine in a plastic bag so if anything falls out it is contained.Hope this helps

I have been using this product for approx a month after three years of trying various masks for my cpap machine, none of which i could get a good night's sleep with [too noisy, kept slipping off, too claustrophobic etc] However, the first night of using this I had the best sleep in two years. It is quiet and the mouthpiece is comfortable. it only took me a couple of days to get used to it and now I have complete control over my sleep pattern. The nasal pillows are not intrusive and no air escapes. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting a good night.

After trying out two different masks (a full mask and a nose mask) that I was given by the RBH last year, and not getting on with either. It's a relief to find one that is so unobtrusive and quiet. The TAP PAP is extremely comfortable to wear compared to the previous masks. There are no straps around the face or head, this one fits via a plastic guard over the top side teeth which holds the nasal air cusions in place. The air tube goes up over the head and is light and flexible. The only problem I have with it is getting the tension correct on the teeth guard, too tight and my teeth hurt, too loose and it slips out of the mouth. Good thing is you can correct this as many times as you like by popping the teeth guard in boiling hot water to soften it for one minute, let it cool for 20 seconds and once moulded to your teeth comfortably, keep it there for a good 30 minutes while it completely cools down. The TAP PAP is also really quiet compared to the National Health ones I was given. It's not nice having to wear a mask to help you breath but this one is as close to not feeling like you have your head in a cage, and for the first time since being diagnosed I've been able to sleep well.

I bought this a few weeks ago and hoped that it would be worth the expense and I can honestly say its the best money Ive spent this year. Having recently been diagnosed with sleep apnoea I found the mask provided on the NHS uncomfortable and was struggling to use it. This is very comfortable easy to use does what it says on the box so to speak and after 20 years of separate bedrooms myself and my wife are now in the same bed!! The only downside is that she now snores!! Definitely recommend.
