A potential lifeline...

My partner is a chronic snorer and is now facing potential surgery as an option. He has an endoscopy in a couple of weeks which will determine if the problem is palette-linked or nasal. Either way as I'm someone who wakes up at 6am to go to work, HIS snoring became MY problem. I tried commercial earplugs - by Drapers - which worked brilliantly but because they're made of soft natural rubber they deteriorate quickly. The Isolate earplugs then were a lifeline and with the small, medium and large buds, it means they can be tailored to suit. I like the design and unlike the Drapers earplugs appreciated that they didn't have a string attached. Despite the metal and sturdy shape, they're incredibly comfortable. I couldn't feel them nor does the metal feel cold in your ear - they're very snug. What I found though was that the left ear plug regularly slips out of my ear. That suggests it's more to do with my ear canal than anything else. Also you CAN still hear sound which is essential if you have young children but if like me you prefer total silence at night then it's worth noting that you may still hear your partner snoring. What the earplugs do offer is a solid muffling of sound which helps. Ultimately though if your partner snores loudly then get him or her to an ENT Unit.
Does The Job Well.

A good and easy fit, on the higher side pricewise but easy to use and does a very good job of isolating / controlling the outside world. Also helps me to sleep if and when my tinnitus plays silly buggers.

I bought these as I get earache with waxed plugs, they thankfully have not caused any problems so far. The problem I have is that they are slightly too long and when I lay on my side push into the ear causing slight discomfort, they also move in the night which then let's sound in..... Will keep trying!!

These work really well when it comes to cutting out sound but if you intend to use these when sleeping, as i did, you won't be able to sleep on your side as the plugs are too long and they get pushed into the eardrum, not good.
